Originally from California, Marissa's first job was as a beat Reporter for the Porterville Recorder and a campaign GOTV volunteer.
Marissa is now a seasoned campaign, government affairs, project manager, communications advisor and political communicator with almost two decades of experience. She begin her career at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and eventually Capitol Hill as a Communications Director in the U.S. Senate. After working in a variety of state (Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts) campaigns, she returned only to soon end up covering the Southern Border for a small news publication, BOLD TV.
She has worked for former Governor Charlie Baker, Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice Bob Flanders, Senator Scott, and various top government-focused consulting firms. Alongside her work she has provided op-eds to The Hill, and has been quoted in The Hill, Politico, The Providence Journal, OANN, and various other media outlets.
Most recently, in 2025, she worked as a Communications and Strategy Specialist for the White House Office of the National Cyber Director.
She has held roles of Manager, Strategist, Communications Director, Political Director, Client Services Director, Reporter, Communications and Events Manager, Communications Strategist, Digital Fundraiser, Founder, TV Contributor, and her personal favorite, intern.
Marissa holds degrees from University of California, Santa Barbara, Johns Hopkins University, and is completing a certification at Harvard University. She lives in Washington DC with her husband.
